Theresa brings her extensive background in education and a passion for student success to her role as Project Manager for Kids Feeding Kids. With 30 years of experience in teaching and curriculum development across elementary, middle, and high schools for Wichita Public Schools, Blue Valley School District, and Shawnee Mission School District. Theresa has also served in leadership roles aligned with new teacher training and mentorship, and committees focused on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), and Building Leadership Teams (BLT). As an adjunct instructor at the University of Saint Mary and an instructional designer at Indiana Wesleyan University, Theresa shaped meaningful and innovative learning experiences in higher ed.
A dedicated lifelong learner, Theresa holds a Master’s degree in Teaching from Friends University and a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a minor in Minority Studies from Wichita State University.
She is a licensed K12 educator including FACS, and is also certified as a Library Media Specialist. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to real-world learning, innovation, and student engagement, actively implementing new programs and technologies to enhance educational experiences. She was Master Teacher for her building in Blue Valley and the building nominee for Teacher of the Year in Shawnee Mission. Her enthusiasm for innovative education and her commitment to meaningful student engagement make her an essential part of our team, and a valuable resource for our partner teachers.
Theresa's journey with Kids Feeding Kids began when she witnessed the program's profound impact on high school students in her FACS classes. She is honored to serve as the Project Manager for Kids Feeding Kids, a cause she is deeply passionate about.
